Maruti- the largest car manufacturer in India has decided to go on with its new K-series petrol engine cars. This is hoped that these new cars will be in the market very soon within the next three to five years. It has been specified by the company officials that these engines has fulfilled the standard levied forward by the EURO pollution checking committee. The engine of these cars are Euro-4 and Euro-5 compliants. Technological advancements suggest that these engines will be fuel efficient also and would have a CO2 emission of 109 gm/km and this emission can be further cut down later with further advancements.

In addition to the present coming K-series models, Maruti-Suzuki has five type of engines available in its various models. These engine varieties includes - F-series engines being present in Maruti-800, Omni, Wagon R and Zen Estillo
- G-series engines are present in two variants i.e., Swift, Dzire, Esteem and Versa
- M-series engine is present in SX4.
- K-series is the latest variety about to come in the market in A Star.
A Star engine will be available in petrol engine while the other variant Splash having a 3-litre engine would be available in both petrol and diesel engines. Maruti officials aims to sell up to 100,000 units of the new A-Star and with the domestic sale of 50,000 units per annum.
