Fiat Linea ready to launch in November 2008

The most awaited car Fiat Linea is now ready to launch in the India. Fiat India Automobiles Private Limited, a joint venture between Fiat and Tata Motors, is going to launch this car at a highly competitive price (between Rs.650,000 - Rs.850,000) in segment C (three-box saloon). Linea is the new generation Fiat car which model is derived from the most popular car Fiat Grande Punto. The new Fiat Linea is an elegantly functional car, with a styling and elegant interiors which is inspired by the Italian tradition. Fiat Linea will be marketed by the Fiat in different models which are equipped with the features and functions which are usually found in higher segment cars.

Initially, Fiat will launch Linea with two variants of engine: one is the 1.4 litre 8-valve engine which delivers 77 horse-power and the second one is a 1.3 litre Multijet 16 valve turbodiesel which delivers 90 horse-power with a 5-speed manual gear transmission. Both engines combined with a FPS(Fire Protection System) that stops the fuel flow milliseconds after stroke to increase the safety level. A 1.4 16 valve turbo diesel engine which delivers 120 horse power will also be available later. The new Fiat Linea is one of the safest car in its category. Fiat Linea is equipped with with the six air bags, two of which are multistage which protect the passengers in case of sudden stroke and rest of all are side and roof air bags which give faster reaction in case of accident.

Fiat Linea is the four-door saloon with a 500 litre luggage compartment with the generous dimensions. This car is 4560 mm long, 1730 mm wide and 1494 mm tall in height and has a wheelbase of 2603 mm. Fiat Linea is expected to be launched in India in November 2008, in both diesel and petrol versions.
