India’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, is now ready to launch Maruti Ritz which is aimed to target the B-segment customers. With the Maruti Ritz launch, Maruti is going to splash the B-segment Indian car market with its style and comfort. Maruti plans to launch Maruti Ritz in the second week of May. Maruti Ritz has cleared whole vehicle test that was conducted by ICAT (International Centre of Automotive Technology) at its test centre in Manesar and got approval to launch. Maruti indicares that Maruti Ritz launch might takes place in the second week of May 2009 with two engine options, one petrol engine and the another one with the diesel engine option.

Maruti plans to launch Maruti Ritz in India with two engine options, one with a 1.2 liter, 1197cc, K12M petrol engine and second one is 1.3 liter Multijet diesel engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox and the model should be Euro IV compliant and should meet all BS - IV norms. Maruti Ritz has been already launched in Europe and has replaced Maruti Wagon-R there. The expected price of this new car will be in the range of Rs. 4.0 - 5.5 lacs.

The Maruti Ritz will be a tall hatchback model, which has more head roof and is much spacious inside the car. The car carries bold stylish and sporty rear looks with an overall masculine body but will appeal to small families with limited budget. Maruti Ritz is not the successor of any specific Maruti model, but a brand-new concept to satisfy the customers needs in terms of roominess, compactness, modern design, aerodynamics, quality, driveability, performance and environmental friendlinesMaruti Suzuki, the largest car manufacturer of India and the second largest car exporter of India, has recently launched another small hatchback car Maruti A-Star in India. Maruti Suzuki has also retained its top position in the Indian auto market by topping the annual India Performance Execution and Layout Study conducted by customer research body JD Power Asia-Pacific.
