German luxury car maker, Audi has announced its sales figures for year 2008. Audi India reported that it records its vehicle sales up by 201% to 1,050 cars as compared to 349 cars in the year 2007. In the last quarter of year 2008 Audi India sales up by 229% to 273 cars as compared to 83 cars in year 2008. In December 2008 Audi India sales increased by 145% despite the overall slowdown in auto market.

Audi India Managing Director Benoit Tiers said today that the year 2008 has been an exciting time for Audi India as we not only have achieved but exceeded our projected targets despite the slowdown in Indian auto market. We tripled our dealership network in India as compared to the previous year and we are confident to take the brand even further to another level in 2009."

In year 2008 Audi India has launched the new Audi A4 and the super sports car Audi R8 in India. Audi A4 got impressive sales figure in the last quarter of 2008 and recently launched Audi R8 was sold out for 2008 even before the official launch. In year 2007 Audi India already successfully started the production of its most successful luxury sedan model - Audi A6 and CKD-production of Audi A4 at the group site at Aurangabad.

To provide full benefit to its customers, Audi India recently announced for price reduction of its all models in India in response to the revision of excise duty and central value added tax (Cenvat) cut by 4% by central government. The prices resulted by the reduction is Rs. 2,79,000 of Audi A8, Rs. 1,85,000 of Audi Q7, Rs. 1,51,000 of Audi A6 and Rs. 1,21,000 of Audi A4. Audi India recently announced special offers to its customers - a 0% financing scheme and an extended 4-year warranty for the Audi A6 range in India.
