Tata Motors is going to launch the most eagerly anticipated car of 2009 - Tata Nano on 23rd March 2009 in India. Finally Tata Motors is decided to launch Tata Nano on 23rd March. Tata Nano will be available at Tata dealership from the first week of April and but its booking will be started by thesecond week of April. Tata Nano launch might revolutionise the auto industry that has been widely acknowledged in India and abroad.

Mr. Tata's 'dream project', Tata Nano, the Rs. 1-lakh car has generated immense interest in the Indian auto market. Tata Motors decided to launch Tata Nano on 23rd March.

The design concept and interiors of Tata Nano was laid out considering a typical Indian family in the mind. Tata Nano has a spacious passenger compartment with enough leg space and head room for a 6ft tall person. Tata Nano has a mono-volume design, with wheels at the corners and the power-train at the rear wheel, that enables it to uniquely combine both space and manoeuvrability.

Tata Nano is equipped with, 623cc, all-aluminium, 2-cylinder, multi point fuel injection petrol engine that produces upto 33 PS power. Tata Nano is the first car in which a two-cylinder gasoline engine is being used with single balancer shaft. Its lean design strategy has helped to minimize weight, that helps to maximize performance per unit of energy consumed and makes it a high fuel efficient vehicle.

When launched, Tata Nano will be available with both standard and deluxe/luxury variants. Both variants will offer a wide range of colours, and other accessories with the price tag of Rs. 1-lakh so that Tata Nano can be customized to an individual's preferences.

The safety performance of Tata Nano exceeds all current regulatory requirements that meets EURO-IV standards. Tata Nano has an all sheet-metal body, a strong passenger compartment, with safety features like crumple zones, intrusion-resistant doors, seat belts and anchorages, with rear tailgate glass bonded to its body.

Tata Motors said that they are ready to launch Tata Nano on 23rd March in Indian market and it will be avialble in showrooms by first week of April while Tata Nano booking will be started by the second week of April. Both models of Tata Nano, the base model and luxury/delux model with AC model will be available at the Tata dealers' showroom by first week of April 2009.

Tata Motors will roll out 60,000-80,000 units of Tata Nano from its another manufacturing plant in Pantnagar in Uttarkhand till the Sanand plant is geared up to produce 2.5 lakh units a year. Previously, Tata Nano launch of was scheduled in October 2008 but was delayed due to Singur imbroglio. Now, Tata Motors plans to launch Tata Nano on 23rd March this year and it will reach the dealers showroom in first week of April this year.
