Maruti Suzuki is aggressively working towards to launch Maruti Ritz in India as the counter attack for the recently launched Tata Nano. Tata Motors has launched Tata Nano on 23rd March in India which generated immense interest in Indian car market. Now its turn to Indian automobile major Maruti Suzuki to respond with new launch. Maruti Suzuki is aggressively working towards to launch Maruti Ritz and improvising the existing ones.
In a tussle to capture the Indian small car market, Maruti is plans to launch Maruti Ritz in the second week of May. Maruti Ritz has a bold, stylish and sporty looks with an overall masculine look but it will appeal to small families that has limited budget. Maruti Ritz is a B+ segment car that will mount a 1.2 litre (KB series) petrol or 1.3-litre diesel engine and will be priced in the range of Rs 4.5-5.5 lakh.
Maruti Ritz will be positioned above Maruti Wagon R but closer to Maruti Swift. The petrol version of Maruti Swift may also be replaced by the 1.2-litre KB engine when Euro IV norms kick-in.

Maruti is also planning to launch its facelifted New Alto in early 2010. The company official said, “We will launch Maruti Ritz in the next fiscal.” Also, Honda Motors is also expected to launch Honda Jazz by mid June in hatchback segment.
