Today on 23rd March, India's leading auto manufacturer Tata Motors launched Tata Nano in India. World's cheapest car Tata Nano, is now ready to fuel up. Mr. Ratan Tata's 'dream project', Tata Nano, the world's cheapest car has generated immense interest in the Indian auto market. Tata Nano launched with both standard and deluxe variants. All variants of Tata Nano will offer a wide range of colors, and other accessories so that the car can be customized to an individual's preferences.

The hype surrounding of Tata Nano launch has been much more than any other vehicle launch in India. Tata Motors has made sure that everyone talking about Tata Nano, by its promos and the social media activity.

With Tata Nano launch, Tata Motors redefined “frugal engineering” for global auto manufacturers when it promised that Tata Nano launch for as low as Rs 1 lakh, below $2,000 at current exchange rates. Many major auto manufacturers said that Tata Nano would not be able to meet with the safety and emission norms of today. But with the Tata Nano launch, Tata proved them wrong, Tata Nano would not only meet with safety and emission norms (BS-III and EURO-IV) defined in India but also in other developed countries, where it would be sold in the upcoming years.

Tata Nano launched with limited production capacity that is only around 50,000 - 60,000 units in the first year that might give it a slow beginning for a blockbuster product where demand far outstrips supply. When the Gujarat based manufacturing plant of Tata Motors run with its full capacity, the production of Tata Nano will churn out 2.5 lakh units annually.

Tata Nano launch is the most awaited vehicle launch in India. Previously, the date of Tata Nano launch is decided in October 2008 but was delayed due to Singur imbroglio.
