Auto manufacturers planning woken up to the growing popularity of diesel Cars In India. Most of the car manufacturers are planning to launch diesel variants of their existing models or are launch new diesel cars in India. High fuel efficiency and lower running cost put diesel cars an advantageous position and force car manufacturers to launch diesel cars in India.
"There is a high demand for diesel cars in India, and we are planning for more diesel cars launch in India", says Maruti Suzuki India managing director S Nakanishi. The success of diesel cars like Maruti Swift and Maruti Swift Dzire, which have waiting list of months, has make force leading car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India, to launch diesel cars in India. Maruti plans to launch its new hatchback Maruti Ritz by the end of May this year, will have a diesel variant which sports a 1.3-litre multijet diesel engine.
Auto major Toyota also plans to launch its new SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) Toyota Fortuner in India by August this year, that is expected to price over Rs 20 lacs. Toyota plans to launch this SUV with a 3.0L advanced CRDe (Common Rail Diesel Engine).
Luxury car manufacturer Audi plans to launch its latest SUV, Audi Q5 in India by the end of this June. Audi would launch this SUV a 3.0L diesel engine and 2.0L TFSI (petrol) engines for Indian consumers. BMW is also planning to launch its new SUV, BMW X6 and BMW X3 with diesel engine this year.
