Italian auto major Fiat has launched Fiat Grande Punto, a new car in hatchback segment in Indian market. Fiat Grande Punto is already a most popular model in International market and it comes with EURO NCAP 5 star ratings. It is one of the most safest car for the Indian roads. Fiat Grande Punto has been launched as a joint venture between Fiat and Tata Motors and company will start its deliveries soon to its dealerships from its Ranjangaon based manufacturing plant.

In Indian auto market Fiat Grande Punto has launched with three engine options that includes the 1.2L petrol engine that is able produce maximum power of 65bhp, a 1.4L, FIRE petrol engine and a 1.3L, multijetturbo diesel that is tuned to churn out 75bhp of maximum power. The Fiat's 1.3L multijet turbo diesel engine is the same engine that currently powering the Maruti Swift, Maruti Swift Dzire, Fiat Palio Multijet, Tata Indica Vista, and the Fiat Linea - only the difference is that engine has different states of tuning, depending on the car.
All petrol variants of Fiat Grande Punto price in the range of Rs 3.99 to 5.61 lacs and the diesel variants of this car is available in the range of Rs 4.85 to 6.11 lacs. In the B+ segment cars this price range will stand Fiat Grande Punto to directly compete with Maruti Swift, Hyundai Getz, Hyundai i20, Chevrolet Aveo UV-A and recently launched Maruti Ritz.
