Honda Jazz is the most awaited small model car model as it will the first hatchback car from Honda's product portfolio in India. Honda announced that they are going to launch Honda Jazz on 10th June in India. The company officials said that it will be the most safest car in hatchback segment as Honda Jazz features Honda's latest G-CON technology, ABS (Anti lock Brake System) and airbags. Honda said that the engine of Honda Jazz is specifically designed for Indian roads.
Honda confirms that Honda Jazz features a 1.2L, i-VTEC power plant which is specifically designed for Indian roads to offer optimal drivability with high fuel efficiency. Honda Jazz will be equipped with a 1.2L, 1198cc, 4-cyclinder, state-of-art i-VTEC engine with programmed fuel injection that makes it able to produce 89bhp power @ 6200rpm and 112Nm torque @ 4800rpm. The ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) test says that Honda Jazz is able offer mileage 16.1kmpl in city roads while on highway it will give above 19kmpl mileage. Its 1.2L, i-VTEC engine is E10 compatible and meets all Euro IV emission norms.

Honda Jazz shares the platform and many other components with Honda City, which makes it easier for Honda to source the inputs in bulk at cheaper prices and keep localisation more than 70% to start with. The Honda City sedan costs Rs 7.5 to 8.7 lacs (as ex-showroom prices New Delhi) and sold around 4500-5000 cars in a month.
Honda Jazz is set to launch on 10th June and is expected to be priced in the range of the Rs 6 to 7 lacs. This price tag might sound expensive, but as of right now its more of a wait and watch game to see just what Honda packs into this hatchback.
