The company claims that its latest K12M engine offers mileage 17.8kmpl in city roads and 21.8kmpl on highway that makes it the most fuel efficient car in its segment and Maruti is expecting very good market response to Maruti Ritz.

Maruti Ritz launch is the most awaited vehicle launch in India as in Indian market rumours says that Maruti Ritz is going to replace Maruti Wagon R is India but Maruti declined these rumors and says that Maruti Ritz will takes place between Maruti Wagon R and its super hatch Maruti Swift. Maruti Ritz will be launched with both petrol and diesel engine option - a 1.2L, 1197cc K12M petrol engine and a 1.3L, multijet diesel engine that is currently powering the Fiat Linea. Maruti Ritz will be first car in Indian market which will be equipped with BS-IV compliant engine. Maruti Ritz launch is going to take place on 15th May and its bookings will open after one day, 16th May. Maruti Ritz will be the eighth car in last two year from Maruti product portfolio after the successful launch of Maruti Swift, Maruti Zen Estilo, Maruti SX4, Maruti Swift (Diesel), Maruti Swift Dzire, Maruti A-Star and Maruti Grand Vitara.
