Fiat Grande Punto ready to launch in India

Auto major Fiat is now ready to launch Fiat Grande Punto in India in the premium hatchback segment. Fiat Grande Punto will be launched in India as a joint venture between Fiat and Indian auto manufacturer Tata Motors. Fiat Grande Punto launch is the most awaited small car launch for India since Fiat announced for the launch of this model last year. Fiat Grande Punto has already been launched in International market from Fiat's product portfolio and it got much popularity because of its high performance and stylish look. Fiat is going to launch Fiat Grande Punto on 17th of this June. After the launch Fiat Grande Punto will increase the competition between premium small car segment in India as it will be priced in the range of Rs 4.5 to 5.5 lacs. Fiat plans to launch Fiat Grande Punto in India to compete the other premium small cars of this segment like Skoda Fabia, Ford Fusion, Maruti Swift, Maruti Ritz, Hyundai i20 and recently launched Honda Jazz.

Fiat Grande Punto will be launched in India with both petrol and diesel engine - the petrol version of Fiat Grande Punto will be equipped with a new 1.2L, 1198cc, petrol engine that will be able to produce 65bhp power and the other petrol engine option is a 1.4L, petrol engine that will produce 77bhp power while the diesel version of Fiat Grande Punto will be equipped with 1.3L, multijet diesel engine that is able to produce 88bhp power. Fiat Grande Punto will be packed with all luxury features that a premium sedan carries and due to this Fiat Grande Punto price is little bit higher in comparison to other small cars available in India. Fiat not disclosed information about the number of variants with which Fiat Grande Punto launch but it is expected that it will be launched with three variants - Active, Dynamic and Emotion.
