World's largest auto manufacturer, General Motors is ready to launch a new Chevrolet Spark that is based on its popular model Chevrolet Beat concept. General Motors has recently launched this model at the Detroit Motor Show 2009 and now shows its interest to launch this model globally. So it is expected that the all new Chevrolet Spark will be launched in Indian market by the end of this year.

This car is also much hyped as rumors said that the new Chevrolet Spark will not replace the existing Spark model that is currently being manufactured from the company’s Talegaon unit in Maharashtra and will be sold parallely with the old Chevrolet Spark model. The new Chevrolet Spark is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 4.5 lacs - 5 lacs. It is expected that around 10% of the overall production will be marked for exports.

General Motors planning to export new Chevrolet Spark to neighboring countries auto market like in Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan where it has all the Indian product portfolio models except Tavera. General Motors is believed to have invested US$ 50-60 million (around Rs 200 - 250crore) for tooling and equipment for the new model and will manufacture the Chevrolet Spark from its newly-built Talegaon based manufacturing plant. General Motors will use the Talegaon based manufacturing plant as an export base for countries in the Asia-Pacific region and Europe.
