Leading Japanese auto manufacturer Honda Motor Co launched its globally popular model Honda Jazz in Indian market. Honda Jazz is the first small car model from Honda’s product portfolio in Indian market and with the launch of this car, Honda intends to strong its position also in small car market. Honda Jazz is build on Honda’s most successful model Honda City platform. Honda uses Honda City platform to build this car as using the new platform to build this car might increase its overall manufacturing cost which is already much high for hatchback segment. Honda launches three variants of Honda Jazz that are – Honda Jazz Basic, Honda Jazz Mode and Honda Jazz Active and its all three variants are priced in the range of Rs 6.98 to Rs 7.33 lacs.
All three variants of Honda Jazz are equipped with the same powered engine they differ only in terms of accessories that they carry. Honda Jazz is powered by the 1.2L, 1198cc, i-VTEC (Variable Valve Timing with Electronic Lift control) petrol engine that is specially designed to increase fuel efficiency with better engine performance. The 1.2L, 1198cc engine of Honda Jazz produces 90bhp power and 110Nm torque that offers good acceleration and makes this car able to cross the mark of 100kmph in just 13.1 seconds and to achieve the top speed mark of 165kmph. Initially Honda Motor Co launched Honda Jazz only with 1.2L engine option but company announced that they will launch its more powerful version that will be equipped with 1.5L engine option by the end of this year. Right now the 1.5L engine powered Honda Jazz is available only in European market.
Honda Jazz is stylish and sporty looking small car model that is loaded with lots of advanced luxurious and safety features. The most exciting feature of this car is its Magic Seats that makes it first in its segment for Indian car market that carries this feature. Honda Jazz is packed with advanced active safety features that include – Dual Front SRS Airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution) and G-CON (G Force Control Technology). Its front seat belt pretentioner with load limiter and seat belt reminder further enhances safety.
