The most awaited car Tata Nano is now ready to hit the Indian road by the end of this month. The auto major Tata Motors has already started dispatching the vehicles to its dealers across the India after disclosing the allotment list of the first one-lakh customers. More than the 70% of the total 2.03 lacs booking of Tata Nano come from rural markets. The first phase of booking of Tata Nano was closed on 25th April, and now Tata Motors working on to complete the process of delivering the one lakh Tata Nano to its customers by 2010.

One of the Tata Motors dealer from South Mumbai said that the customers of Tata Nano who booked it before 25th April have been informed about the delivery date with their allotment letters. Those customers whose names are not figured in the first list of one lacs customers now have option to retain the booking and get interest on the booking amount of Tata Nano that will be affected from July 2009. According to the company official, more than 55,000 customers have agreed to accept the Tata Nano after the first batch delivery.

According to the company official Tata Motors had offered the special pricing of Tata Nano of one lakh only for the first one-lakh customers. From the three variants of Tata Nano, its base variant accounted for 20% of the bookings, followed by the CX variant of Tata Nano at 30% and the remaining 50% for its top-end LX variant.

Tata Motors currently producing Tata Nano from its interim manufacturing plant at Pantnagar, which has the production capacity of 50,000 units per year. Tata Motors expected that its production will raise to 2.5 lakh units when its Sanad based new manufacturing plant in Gujarat starts in full fledge way in December.
