Leading Italian auto manufacturer Fiat has launched its premium C segment sedan model Fiat Linea in India as a joint venture with Tata Motors. Fiat Linea gains much popularity in Indian market because of its lower price tag, advanced features and stylish looks. Fiat Linea gives tough competition to Honda City as it offers more features in comparison to Honda City with comparatively much lower price tag. Fiat launched Fiat Linea with both petrol and diesel engine option and with ten variants and with five exciting colors. All ten variants of this sedan are priced in the range of Rs 6.12 lacs to Rs 8.35 lacs (as ex-showroom prices in New Delhi).

Fiat Linea is available with ten variants out of which its five variants Active, Dynamic, Dynamic Pack, Emotion and Emotion Pack are powered by the diesel engine and rest five variants that is available with the same name are powered by the petrol engine. The diesel variants of Fiat Linea are powered by its most popular 1.3L, 1248cc, turbo charged diesel engine which is currently powering the popular cars like Maruti Swift, Maruti Swift Dzire, Fiat Punto and Tata Indica. This 1.3L, Multijet, VGT (Variable Geometery Turbocharged) common rail diesel engine is well known for delivering high engine performance with great fuel efficiency so that the car never vibrates even at the speed of 120kmph and 14kmpl in city and around 19kmpl on highway. This multijet diesel engine of Fiat Linea is able to produce the maximum power of 85bhp at 4000rpm and maximum torque of 203Nm at 2500rpm. On the other hand the petrol variants of this car that is powering by a 1.4L, 1368cc, FIRE petrol engine with five speed manual gearbox. This engine also offers high engine performance, better fuel efficiency with smooth driving experience. This 1.4L, FIRE petrol engine of Fiat Linea produces the maximum power of 90bhp at 6000rpm and and maximum torque of 115Nm t 4500rpm. This petrol engine offers mileage 12kmpl in city and on highway it gives around 16kmpl.
