After the huge success of Maruti Ritz, India's largest passenger car manufacturer and second largest passenger car exporter Maruti Suzuki India is ready to launch the newer version of its most successful B segment hatchback model Maruti Zen on 25th of August. The newer version of Maruti Zen will be powered by its latest KB-series petrol engine.

The Maruti Zen Estilo would be produced from the Maruti's Gurgaon based manufacturing plant along with other two small hatchback cars- Maruti A-Star and Maruti Ritz which also powered by the KB-series engine, company official said.

Maruti Zen was the most successful premium hatchback model in Indian auto market and two years back Maruti was re-launched this model with new look and fewer interior change and with the new name Maruti Zen Estilo. Now Maruti plans to to re-launch Maruti Zen again with its new fuel efficient KB-series engine to gain more market share in its segment. Maruti cars are well known for its high fuel efficiency and riding on the success of this new fuel efficient engine, Maruti Suzuki India plans to place this KB-series engines to its other existing models as well as its upcoming models. Maruti had set a target to gradually launch this next generation light-weight fuel efficient KB-series engine on other existing models by the next 3-5 years.

Maruti has currently manufactures Bharat Stage-III, Bharat Stage-IV and Euro-V emission norms compliant KB-series engines. It manufactures two different capacity petrol engines- 1.0 litre for Maruti A-Star and 1.2 litre for Maruti Ritz, at its fully integrated engine manufacturing plant, located at Maruti's Gurgaon based manufacturing plant. Within 10 months of launch of the new KB-series engines, Maruti Suzuki India had last month sold more than one lakh units of Maruti A-Star and Maruti Ritz.

Other upcoming cars that might be launched in Indian market by next two months are Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet Cruze, Tata Indigo Vista, Hyundai Santa Fe, new IGNIS variant of Tata Indica Vista and Volkswagen Beetle.
