India's second largest passenger car manufacturer, Hyundai Motor also planning to launch its small car in Indian market. In India, auto sector in continously growing and to tap this growth all auto majors like Ford, Nissan, Renault, Honda, Tata, planning to introduce there new cars in Indian auto market. Also in Indian market more than 70% car buyers fall in small car segment and to make its position more strong in this segment, Hyundai Motor is working on to launch another small car in Indian market which is expected to be smaller than its most popular and successful model Hyundai Santro.

Hyundai Motor India's (HMIL) MD & CEO, H. W. Park said that the new India specific small car is being developed in the mother company at Korea. However, he refused to say about the launch date and the exact pricing of this new small car. He said that the company plans to invest around Rs 800 crore to develop the new cars.

The launch of this new small car is the part of HMIL's (Hyundai Motor India Limited) strategy to increase its share of revenue from the Indian auto market.

He added that HMIL is continuously focusing on India's domestic auto market, both in terms of sales as well as product introduction. HMIL is also working on to make India as its small car export hub from where it exports its Indian made small cars to across the world.

In small car segment, competition is continuously increasing and by next year this segment flooding from other brands. The company senior official said that the company had 21% share in Indian market and even in future when the competition will be more tough we will be prepared to keep our market share.
