India's largest passenger car manufacturer and second largest passenger car exporter Maruti Suzuki India Ltd is now ready to launch its premium sedan model Maruti Kizashi in India in C sedan segment. The company's Japanese partner Suzuki Motor Corporation has been finally launched Kizashi in Japanese market and by the end of this year it will be launched also in US market. However the company refused to say about the exact pricing of Maruti Kizashi but the company official indicates that it might be priced in the range of Rs 10 to 12 lacs. Suzuki introduced this model in Japanese market with the base price at $20,000 or Rs 9.40 lacs.

According to the company official, Maruti Kizashi will be powered by the 2.4L petrol engine the company also plans to launch it also with diesel option in Indian market because from past few months the sales of diesel cars in continously increasing in comparison to petrol models. Maruti Kizashi will be packed with latest new generation safety features like airbags, cruise control system, parking sensors, ABS (Antilock Brake System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) etc.

With the launch of Maruti Kizashi the company plans to make its position stronger also in premium sedan segment which is currently dominated by Honda City, Chevrolet Optra Magnum, Honda Civic and recently launched Chevrolet Cruze. Also in Indian market company trying to shed its dull image in premium sedan segment and the comapny continue the sporty and higher quality product renaissance that it began by the Maruti SX4.
