Ford Figo

Ford Figo is a semi-compact car model from Ford Motors which will be launched in the world market in year 2010. The Ford Figo model will be built in India and exported to Asia-Pacific and Africa regions. The Ford Figo model was first unveiled in New Delhi in September this year. To facilitate the manufacturing of this model and also to double its manufacturing capacity to 2 lakh units the company is spending $500 million on the Chennai plant. It is expected that the Ford Figo will be launched in both diesel and petrol variants. Petrol Version of the Figo model is powered with a 1.2l engine which is expected to produce maximum power of 70bhp to 75bhp. While the diesel version of the Ford Figo will be launched with a 1.4L, Duratorq engine which is already popular for its performance and good fuel economy.

The Ford Figo model has been designed by Ford Australia so its Indian customers can expect a unique design as well as a global engineering framework in this model. Company has not disclosed the interior of the car till now but as per officials of the company the Ford Figo model will be launched with all new interiors. The Ford Figo model is coming with a slim upper grille and a large lower grille. It is coming with body colored bumpers which are just placed next to the lower grille with fog lamps. On the other hand sporty head lamps makes the exteriors of Ford Figo aggressive as well as sporty.

The Ford Figo model is expected to be launched in six variants in which 3 variants will be petrol version and the other three will be diesel versions.

Price of the Ford Figo model is expected to be in the range of Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. The Ford Figo Model will compete with popular and upcoming car models like Maruti Ritz, Chevrolet Beat, Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai i10 in the Indian market.
