Maruti Kizashi launch in India is official now

News has come in from the Chicago Auto Show that Japanese carmaker Suzuki would soon be bringing the sports sedan Maruti Kizashi in India. Kizashi is Suzuki's first product in the all-wheel-drive sport sedan segment. The car reached North American showrooms in December last year and so far about 300-400 units have been sold. India is a very important market for Suzuki as it has a major share in partnership with Maruti.

When the American Suzuki Motor Corp (Automotive Marketing and Public Relations) Vice-President, Gene Brown was quizzed by the media he said, “Maruti Kizashi is going to be sold in India. I do not think the launch in India is that far in the future.” He said this at the 102nd edition of the Chicago Auto Show, on till Feburary 21, where Suzuki is showcasing all four trim levels of the 2010 model Maruti Kizashi.

Maruti Kizashi falls in the D segment and is expected to come with a 2.4 AWD engine sporting 18 inch alloy wheels and a 425 Rockford fosgate audio system with iPod and bluetooth connectivity. The car is rumored to cost Rs 12 lakh but nothing is final.
