Tata has designed its new MUV to meet the European crash legislation and is aiming to get a four-star EuroNCAP rating. Tata Aria would make its European debut at the Geneva motor show and is expected to go on sale in the UK in spring 2011. The Aria is being considered the most sophisticated Tata to date. Tata Motors has planned to launch Tata Aria also in the Indian auto market. according to the company official Tata Aria would be launched in the Indian auto market on 11th of this October. It is expected that in the Indian auto market, Tata Aria price will fall in the range of Rs 10 to 12 lakh.
This brand new product from Tata’s stable uses a body-on-frame construction instead of the monocoque shell, to perform better on Indian roads. Tata Aria would be powered by the 140bhp, 2.2-litre, four-cylinder diesel teamed with a full-time four-wheel drive system. It is possible that the European version of the Tata Aria might have more power. Maybe a 170bhp version with the change in the gearbox, but nothing is final. Also there a petrol engine is not likely.
