Hyundai India, would launch its 3rd SUV in the Indian market, Hyundai Santa Fe tomorrow on 13th Oct'2010. This seven seater beauty has been imported as a completely built in unit in India. This rugged, strong and powerful vehicle would offer a treat to its buyers as it would sport a 2.2 L, 2199 cc CRDI diesel engine. The engine is popular to offer amazing power and performance on road. Expected to be launched in two versions– 6 Speed Manual Transmission and 6 Speed Automatic Transmission. In terms of performance the buyers are sure to get a treat as this power-packed beauty would deliver an impressive power of 145 Kw at 3800 rpm and a torque of 422 Nm at 1800-2500 rpm. Hyundai Santa is sure to give a tough fight to its contemporaries in its segment including Honda CRV, Chevrolet Captiva, Nissan X Trail, Ford Endeavour, Mitsubishi Outlander.
The car is expected to offer better fuel efficiency and emission as the Euro V engine of Hyundai Santa Fe is speculated to have 4 cylinders and 16 valves with DOHC (Double Over Head Camshafts). A car coming from the Hyundai's stable is sure to have elegance in terms of looks and styling and the posh interiors and exteriors of the car would be a testimony of the same. On the exterior front some of the noticeable features would be new bumpers and body moldings, sporty wheels and a new grille which offers a very sleek look to the car, a pair of fog lights to give Hyundai Santa Fe a dynamic and taut stance according to the new car builder. The interiors too would be worth every penny as the inclusions would be leather and cloth seating surfaces, an Eco Indicator on automatic equipped models and a touch screen navigation system complete with rear view camera.
An SUV/MUV is always expected to score high in terms of the safety and comfort features. Hyundai Santa Fe would incorporate many comfort and safety features like Airbags, ABS (Anti lock Braking System), EBD, and brake assists, XM Nav Traffic, Bluetooth connectivity, iPod/USB auxiliary inputs for MP3 players and audio controls on the steering wheel etc.
Hyundai Santa Fe would have a very sound and dynamic braking system with front and rear disc brakes as standard features. A four-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist will assure safety of the passengers as it will prevent wheel locking in case of abrupt braking . Brake assist is a technology that provides maximum braking force when a panic stop is detected. The three-point seatbelts and adjustable head restraints and the front-seat active head restraints will help prevent whiplash by automatically reducing the space between a front occupant’s head and the head restraint during a rear collision.
