News has come in from the Tata stable that the Indian crossover will be commercially launched on October 11, 2010.The car was first displayed at the 75th Geneva Motor Show in 2005 and in the New Delhi Auto Expo 2006. The Tata Aria was unveiled at the New Delhi Auto Expo in January 2010. The Tata Aria would come loaded with a 2.2L, 2179cc, 4-cylinder DICOR engine. The 2.2L DICOR engine in the Tata Aria offers a maximum power of 140 bhp at 4,000 rpm and develops a peak torque of 320Nm at 1,700 to 2,700 rpm. The engine is similar to that of Safari but its refinement is very obvious to be able to suit Tata Aria better. Things like optimized rubber mounts, aluminum cast sump, better acoustic package with a dual mass flywheel which plays the main role to reduce unwanted vibrations and enhances the overall engine performance are all present in the Tata Aria.
The all new Tata Aria is being dubbed as the most sophisticated Tata till date. The Tata Aria CUV in India would come with a four wheel drive option. Tata Aria was also on display at the recently-concluded 80th Geneva Auto Show.

The upper front grille looks like Tata Indica Vista, classy headlamps and bonnet creases are traditional Tata.
