Tata Aria, a seven seater much awaited premium SUV has been finally launched in India by the ace car maker Tata Motors. The car has been attractively priced in the range of Rs. 12 to 14 Lacs and is sure to give a tough fight to all its contemporaries namely Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Innova, Honda CRV, Ford Endeavour, Chevrolet Captiva, Toyota Fortuner and upcoming Skoda Yeti. One of the highlights that grabbed the atttention of car buyers across the country is the power-packed 2.2L, DICOR (Direct Injection Common Rail) engine, which powers the current market leader Tata Safari. The engine is capable of delivering 140bhp power at 4000rpm with a thumping 320Nm torque at 1700-2700rpm. Apart from its super engine, the car comes with a range of features both for the safety and comfort of the riding passengers.
Tata Aria is well designed to accomodate 7 passengers with its three rows with the facility of folding the second row seats. The moment one gets inside the car, there is superb feel of luxury clubbed with comfort. Some of the interesting features that make the inetriors all the more lovable include gear shift knob and leather seats, headrest mounted LCD screen, leather covered steering wheel, power and tilt steering, power windows at all four doors, automatic climate control AC, keyless entry, advanced CD/MP3 audio system, cup holders on floor console, cigarette lighter and ash-tray in front console, rear wash and wiper, electrical glass demister, digital outside temperature indicator, etc.
It seems that the designers at Tata Motors have paid great emphasis on improving the entertainment aspects of the car as various value additions like an advanced CD player, USB/Bluetooth connectivity, 3D sound etc. have been appealing buyers across classes and masses. In addition to the above mentioned features, the car also gives the option of a sunroof of the passengers.
The car has been rightly termed as a crossover as it blends the perfect features of an MUV and a SUV. The large wheels and aggressive grills in the front gives it a look and feel of an SUV. The headlamps are attractive and compliments the bonnet well. The automatic adjustable ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) sport stylish front turn indicators. The exhaust pipes have a chrome finish that give a sporty yet posh finesse to the car.
While talking about exteriors, the dimensions of the car play an imporatnt factor, which in case of Tata Aria are length is 4780mm, width is 1895mm and height is 1780mm. The wheelbase is large and the impressive ground clearnce makes it clear that the car is going to offer superb performance across various terrains.
