For Figo, the stunner hatchback is climbing fast the ladder of numero uno position. The compact car based on the fourth generation of Ford Fiesta, was launched in March and in just eight months Ford Figo has touched the milestone of 50,000 cars on road. Ford, the Americian car maker, started its production in India in 1996, manufactured Ford Figo at the Chennai plant in Tamil Nadu. Ford Figo has shown an excellent growth by selling 50,000 Figos. The achievement only proves that the Ford Figo is suffixed with advanced technology, loaded with features and the price tag with which it comes.

Recently Ford India, celebrated this newly acquired success of Ford Figo. The company chose a very different concept, instead of announcing discounts or gifts or calling celebs, they took a step ahead and invited the common man of India to celebrate the historic record. The company selected four couples from the most in thing “Facebook” by running a campaign and choosing the couples on the concept of “Sandeep” with which the car is made of. They drove the couples from Chandigarh to Chennai in Ford Figo. And as a result, all the four couples were spellbound with Ford Figo. Though one of the couples already owned Ford Figo but with the performance of the car even they fell short of adjectives.

The 50,000th Ford Figo, was beautifully decorated by Rob, who is a well known artisan of India. The decorated hatchback was auctioned and sold for Rs 20 lacs. The money which came from the auction was donated to the schools near by Chengalpet in Chennai for the betterment of its infrastructural facilities.

Ford Figo is that one car which has again cemented Ford's position in the Indian auto market. Ford Figo is the second car in India to reach to 50,000 units after a Maruti Suzuki product and is also among the best ten top selling cars in India. Currently, Ford India has 167 dealerships and with the growth this hatchback has given to the car maker they are optimistic to extend the network to 200 by the year end. Ford India, has an array of vehicles in various segments which has attracted the Indian buyers, including Ford Figo, Ford Endeavor, Ford Fiesta and Ford New Ikon. Ford India, greatly enthusiastic with the high graph also plans to expand in the Indian auto market with continuous introduction of new models, marketing strategies and customer satisfaction.
