India's very own Maruti

In the history of Indian automobile industry, Maruti has got a very significant and special place. The company has successfully posted good number almost every year. a very important place in the history of the Indian automobile industry that is posting very good numbers year after year. Maruti is the market leader of the small car segment as well as of the hatchback segment. The company has got around 50 per cent of the total market share. Till now the company has been manufacturing cars in India. It pays several crore rupees as a royalty to Suzuki for using its technology.
But some time ago, it was stated that an R and D centre be established at Rohtak, Haryana. This center will ready by 2015. Here,Maruti will conceptualise a car that will be completely developed in India. As far as the existing models of Maruti are concerned, here are some details about them.

The new K series Alto was recently introduced by the company. It comes in 2 variants as Alto K10 LXI and Alto K10 VXI with the cost of Rs 3.03 – 3.16 lakh (ex showroom Delhi). Maruti Alto has been a bestseller of the company. The new K series of Alto has got some nice cosmetic upgrades.
Maruti A Star

This model of Maruti is equipped with a KB series 998cc, three-cylinder, 12 valve and also a DOHC unit which produces maximum power of 67 PS at 6200 rpm along with the torque of 90 Nm at 3500 rpm. The company has also provided the automatic transmission version of Maruti A Star recently. The product has got a 4-speed automatic transmission. The product costs Rs 3,62,556 – Rs 4,41,800 (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

This product is available in the western markets with brand name of Suzuki Splash. In Indian auto market, it comes in both diesel and petrol versions. The petrol version of Maruti Ritz has got a 1.2 L, 1197 cc K -12 series engine.
