BMW X1 launched today

Today, BMW India has launched its most awaited SUV(Sports Utility Vehicle), BMW X1 at Deutsche Motoren, Mathura Road, New Delhi. This exciting crossover will be available in three variants i.e. : BMW X1 sDrive 18i (2.0L petrol engine) priced at 22 Lakh , BMW X1 sDrive 20D (Diesel Engine) priced at 23.9 Lakh and BMW X1 sDrive 20D Xclusive (Diesel Engine) for 29.9 Lakh. This new BMW sensation is powered by 1.8 litre petrol engine and 2.0 diesel engines.

The 1.8 L engine (petrol) comes with an engine displacement of 1995 cc churning out maximum power of 150 bhp. This mean machine goes past 100 kmph from nil in just 10.4 seconds. The 2.0 L diesel engine, on the other hand comes available with a displacement of 1995 cc offering maximum output of 177 bhp and a torque of 350 Nm. This version of the BMW X1 does the 0-100 kmph sprint in 8.3 seconds.

Moreover, BMW X1 is available in two wheel drive (2WD), which has enabled the company to price this crossover in the competing range. The car is built on BMW 3 Series platform and would be shipped to BMW's Chennai facility, where BMW 3 Series is manufactured, in CKD form. BMW X1 will have wheelbase of 2760 mm and the total length of this crossover counts to 4454 mm, X1 has brought a new luxury segment in the compact crossover class.

Like BMW 3 Series Corporate Edition, some features are missing in BMW X1 Corporate Edition, but are available in BMW X1 highline and BMW X1 Cool Elegance. BMW X1 Corporate Edition is available with exciting features like sunroof, i-drive interface, and 6-CD changer, but has only a single CD player. The Corporate Edition has simple black trim and fabric seats instead of wood garnishing. In addition to sunroof and i-drive system, BMW X1 highline has Xenon headlamps, parking sensors and leather seats. The top end variant, BMW X1 Cool Elegance has Anthracite Headliner along with exclusive contrasting piping on the leather seats.
