Ford India has showcased the new 2011 Ford Fiesta in Bengaluru today. The new Ford Fiesta is indigenously built in the country. A range of engines have been introduced to the new sedan.
Reports reveal that both petrol and diesel engines will power the car. The new engines 1.5 liter petrol is said to have been the less powerful 1.6 liter engine that currently powers the Ford Fiesta. However, the 1.5L petrol engine has been tweaked with and now it comes with Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT) that takes the power to 108.4 bhp, 140Nm. Meanwhile, the 1.5L diesel engine that is fitted with an intercooler is the more powerful version of the existing 1.4 Duratorq. The diesel Ford Fiesta will be able to develop 90bhp and 204Nm of torque. Initially the two powerful engines will be coupled with five-speed manual gearbox and a twin clutch auto version is expected later. With the introduction of new engine, the new Ford Fiesta petrol delivers around 17kmpl while the TDCi diesel version delvers 23.5kmpl according to ARAI.

A feature in Ford Fiesta that is going to woo customers is the voice control that eases making and receiving calls, control music system besides controlling the temperature. In addition to it, the new Ford Fiesta has cruise control, USB, Aux multimedia features. There are rear parking sensors to ease parking in even congested areas. Among the stability features, the new Ford Fiesta has Electric Power Steering (EPAS). Such features are surely going make new Ford Fiesta quite visible among sedan cars in India.
