Honda India is kind of dealing with a crisis, as it is trying its best to survive in the Indian auto market. With so many compact cars and sedans taking over the market, Honda is now planning to give a little makeover to its popular sedan car Honda City. A few days back, Honda India reduced the Honda City price to rejuvenate its lost volumes, turnover and tumbling fortune. The new and improved Honda City is expected to come with first class elective features, including infotainment and latest multimedia additions, like Bluetooth and IPod connectivity, chic color combos and sophisticated sunroof.
The fresh and enhanced Honda City is also expected to come with external and internal cosmetic changes, which might comprise of elegant design of tail lamps like using LEDs. On the other hand, the internal changes might consist of brand new CD player, altered instrumental panel, elegant interior trim and many more. It’s been around 13 years that Honda India came into its existence and Honda City was counted amongst those cars that recorded the largest number of sales and literally ruled the India Sedan segment. But, since past few months, new sedans like Volkswagen Vento and Hyundai Verna Fluidic have pushed Honda City to 4th position. Honda cars in India have been seeing a massive downfall since past few years. According to the sales figures, Honda City sales actually tumbled around 43%, which are about 3,370 cars in the country. And to get back to its original position, Honda decided to cut down the Honda City Price by Rs.66,000 with same luxury and munificent features.
The new and improved Honda City is expected to hit the Indian Roads around October this year. If rumors are to be believed, the new Honda City version will flaunt new set of rear and front bumpers, along with altered grille and metal alloys. It is also rumored that the new Honda City will have 1.5 litre engine and the same speed gearbox as the current model features. Honda India is also ready to launch the Gen Next Honda City in the year of 2013, which is likely to give a tough competition to cars like Volkswagen Vento, Hyundai Verna Fluidic and Maruti SX4.
