Renault India to launch its premium SUV Koleos soon

It seems that the French car maker is trying its best to enter the Indian auto market. With the failure of Mahindra Renault Logan Renault India is now trying to grab the attention of the Indian public by launching its Renault Koleos in the festive season of October this year. This will be the first SUV in India to be launched by Renault. The car was first shown to the Indian crowd in the Delhi Auto Expo and received an overwhelming response.

Renault Koleos price is estimated to be about Rs.20 lakh. This new Renault Koleos is a prime SUV so it is believed that this car would surely be able to compete another SUVs in India like Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet Captiva and also the Skoda Yeti.

Renault is most likely to offer a 2.0 L diesel engine of 1995cc, which can provide us a maximum power of 148bhp@4000 and a maximum torque of 319Nm@2000 rpm, a six speed manual transmission system and 215/60R17 wheels, which are smaller as compared to its competitor Honda CR-V.

The car has 450-litre boot space,it is geared up for weekly holidays as well, the wheel base is even broad enough to accommodate 5 people comfortably in the car. If we move onto the interiors we will find that they are much similar to the Renault Fluence the upper part of the dash is bit plasticky, 3 spoke steering which has got scrolls over it to handle the music system and cruise control system. The car has a top speed of 188kmph and gives a mileage of 10 kmpl. It has ventilated disc brakes with wonderful suspension. The car company aims to manufacture 4 new products in next 15 months and a 100 dealer channel by the end of 2012.
