Maruti stops production of old Swift

Maruti India is one of the biggest car manufacturers in the country and Maruti Swift is counted amongst the most appreciated models by Maruti India. If rumors are to be believed, Maruti India is in plans to terminate the old Maruti Swift model very soon. The firm is already in plans to launch a brand new Maruti Swift this year itself. Also the Maruti dealers in India have stopped taking any bookings for the old Maruti Swift model now. Even Maruti India has by now shifted the manufacturing of Maruti Swift Dzire to its Gurgaon plant from its Manesar manufacturing facility.

On one hand, there are speculations in the Indian Auto Market that the new Maruti Swift launch will be done in the month of August 2011. On the other hand, bookings are flooding in for the 2011 Swift, which in turn will lead to the extended waiting period by Maruti India. However, in case, if Maruti India would have continued the production of old Maruti Swift, it would have allowed the firm to price the new Maruti Swift a bit higher than the old one. It is a well-known fact that Maruti Swift petrol version has done an exceptional business in the Indian Auto Market and has managed to be counted amongst the top 5 best selling hatchbacks in India.
