Mahindra and Mahindra launched the Mahindra XUV 500 at an introductory price of Rs 10.8 lakhs for its base variant. Loaded with many exceptional features and a competitive price tag, the crossover SUV has attracted 6000 bookings in just two days after the launch. The tag ’introductory’ explains that the price is subjective to revision in few months down the line. Fearing the impending hike in the price, the customers are grabbing the chance to own the SUV with both hands. The industry experts believe that the Mahindra XUV 500will replace the Mahindra’s flagship SUV, Scorpio with its tremendous fan following. Mahindra XUV 500 is expected to take the same path of glory as that of Mahindra Scorpio. The Mahindra Scorpio was launched in 2002 at an extremely competitive price of Rs 5.5 lakh. With due course of revisions every now and then, the latest version of Mahindra Scorpio Ex variant has been launched at Rs 7.49 lakhs.
