The hotly anticipated car Volkswagen Up! makes headlines yet again today. The smallest car from Volkswagen India, which is expected to be launched only by the end of this year is spotted in Mumbai during the test rounds. Whether Volkswagen Up! was purposefully brought to the auto major’s Mumbai office to showcase it or some chap was really lucky enough to capture in the lenses could be anybody’s guess. Whatever may be the case, we do have a couple of updates on Volkswagen Up! at the end of the day.

The image here clearly shows a three door version of the hatchback. A five door version cannot be ruled out of this extremely compact car of just 3.54 m in length. If it is the same car that is going to make it to the car market, then we are in for quite a few surprises. The car interiors look just fabulous with the red and grey color tones, dominated by the soft grey tones. The dashboard, central console are heavily decked with red hue in the background, with the looks of some luxury car interiors. The car carries itself gracefully with its unique design, which is a class in its own. The fascia of the car has a marked distinction from the rest with delicate black line enclosing the twin fog lamps placed on either side of the number plate just below the beautifully crafted headlamps. Unlike the pattern followed of late with the body colored OVRMs and door handles,

the car is deviation from the usual once again with the black colored accessories. The backend of the car is well-matched and are as classy as the frontal looks. The 1.0L 3-pot engine is offered with two varied power outputs. The 69 Bhp and the 74 Bhp power output is on the cards, though the latter is as per the rumours. Volkswagen Up! with the diesel engine is a little far-fetched at the moment, though it is expected to hit the market somewhere in 2013 with an option of 1.2 L 75 Bhp engine.
