The year-end has come and it’s time for some attractive discounts. More than anything, it’s a clever ploy from the car manufacturer to push their sales. The consumers usually defer their new car purchases to the new year for two main reasons. There is a constant hope of new model with fresher appeal as it is usually at the beginning of the year when the car manufacturer brings in a new model, not to mention the Auto Expo which could have pretty exciting new launches. The year of registration of a vehicle purchase again plays a very important role in increasing the resale value of the car. But again, the new year also has the price hike lurking from behind. So, this becomes an ideal time for any car manufacturer to announce their share of discounts who are usually confused at this point whether or not to go for a new car purchase. What more, it helps the auto majors in clearing out their inventories from their sales outlets. Surprisingly, the petrol car inventories are not willing to move out of the sales outlets this time as if they are jinxed. So, Maruti India and General Motors have decided to do something of it to push the petrol car sales.
Maruti Suzuki India has clubbed the flagship model which refuses to give in to any competition and its dud seller Maruti A-Star together up with a discount of Rs 35,000. The Maruti Wagon R is again offered only in a petrol variant. It becomes all the more important to push its sales during the times as this and hence a discount of Rs 25,000.General Motors India is all set to turn around the sales though the month of December isn’t too promising for the car manufacturers. The Chevrolet Aveo UVA is up for a Rs 53,000 straight cash discount while the Chevrolet Spark small car is offered at Rs 54,000 cash discount and an additional Rs 11,000 free insurance coverage. There is absolutely no discount on the Chevrolet Beat diesel, which obviously doesn’t need an additional push to ramp up its sales, but the Chevrolet Beat petrol is offered with overall discount of Rs 33,000. The Chevrolet Aveo and Optra fans can see massive discounts at Rs 62,000 and Rs 54,000 on each. Hyundai India obviously has to do something about the Hyundai i10 for the lack of diesel variant. So, here comes a discount from Hyundai as well with Rs 33,000 on the Hyundai i10 petrol.
