Despite the car industry slowdown, there is absolutely no dearth in new car launches. Car manufacturers are leaving no stone unturned to ramp up their sales. New cars always appeal the consumers the most who might want to try a fresher model even if the existing car models have enough to offer. The growing competition is keeping the auto makers literally on their toes to come up with newer models. And the same has happened with Toyota India as well. Toyota Innova has established record breaking sales in the MPV segment in India. There was never a question of low sales where Innova is concerned. Then what could be the reason behind the makeover. The auto major might have probably thought that this is the only way to keep the Innova fans intact. So, here we have the 2012 Toyota Innova all set to break the covers at the upcoming auto Expo.

The same is true for the new Toyota Fortuner as well. We can expect a hike in the new Toyota Innova price but have to wait up to see what 2012 Toyota Fortuner price could be? Now that we know the reason behind the makeover, we know exactly why the makeover is just skin deep. Except for dazzling new exteriors there is absolutely no change in the engine department. However, there could be a good news for the Innova fans though. Toyota apparently has ramped up the production of Toyota Innova. So, this means the that the delivery time will be much lesser than the current 3-4 months.
More or less the same can be expected of the new Toyota Fortuner as well. More than the makeover, the auto major hopes to introduce a new 4x2 variant. Well, is there an automatic option as well lurking from behind? We have to wait and see till the launch happens to find out the true story. Logically, an automatic variant definitely makes some sense. Being a premium segment SUV that too with a Rs 20 lakh price tag, lack of automatic gearbox is definitely a let-down. Its closest rival on the other hand, Ford Endeavour is offered with an automatic gearbox that too with relatively lower price tag. So, the new Fortuner is more to fill-in the lack of variants and an automatic gearbox deficit. Does this mean that Toyota can expect some good sales for the two revamped versions?
