Ford unveils its compact SUV Ford EcoSport today

Amidst an impressive backdrop of the grand stage setting at the Taj Palace hotel in New Delhi, the much anticipated mini SUV Ford EcoSport has finally broke covers today. The Ford EcoSport is the very picture of true mini SUV exuding power from the overwhelming orange compact body with an all new Ford’s EcoBoost petrol engine to power the car which was unveiled in front of the masses by none other than Ford’s Chief Executive Allen Mullaly and Micheal Boneham, President and MD of Ford India during the presence of Joe Henericks, President of Ford Motors for Asia Pacific and Africa . It is a new beginning for the Ford’s all new 1.0L 3 cylinder EcoBoost petrol engine too to show some phenomenal performance with the capacity to equal the 1.6L petrol engine in performance. This 1.0 L EcoBoost petrol engine is an alternative to the Ford Fiesta’s 1.5 L diesel powertrain under the hood.

The new SUV is under 4 meter in length which explains the usage of the limited capacity petrol and diesel engine to propel the car. As per the hints by the top guns of Ford, the compact Ford EcoSport price is going to be around Rs 8 lakh. The exteriors of the car are simply exemplary with a prominent fascia with a grille standing out with the intelligent looking headlamps. The contrasting bumpers offer a fresher appeal for a change when the car manufacturer are more taken in by the body colored bumpers of late.

 The Ford EcoSport display came after a long wait amidst the nail-biting excitement filled atmosphere to make the unveiling all the more anticipated. Ford EcoSport on every aspect could be a true competitor to the upcoming Renault Duster especially with the Ford EcoSport price in the range of Rs 7- Rs 9 lakh. The Ford EcoSport is the only other compact SUV to join the Premier Rio in the Indian car market. The delay which was apparently caused by the inevitable flight delay of Ford Motor’s Chief Allen Mullaly has turned out to be something worth waiting. However, there was not a single moment to spare when Michael Boneham had the crowd gripped with interest giving a clean chit of Ford Figo’s success in the country.
