Mahindra unveils SsangYong's Rexton, Actyon Sports and a concept at Auto Expo

Not long before Mahindra and Mahindra unveiled its first lot of new cars and concepts at the Delhi Auto Expo. The much hyped SsangYong SUV in displayed for the first time to ward off any more speculations from now on. Apart from the proudly sitting Mahindra Rexton SUV, the auto major has brought another car SsangYong Actyon Sports and a whole new concept, the XIV 1 while there is another long list of new cars yet to be displayed from Mahindra and Mahindra which we will soon get to see. Although, Mahindra India has not brought the Rexton SUV for a launch but for a mere display for the time being, which is more likely to take place around mid-2012. The all-electric Mahindra Reva NXR, a second SsangYong SUV Korando E and the Mahindra Verito electric car will however be a part of Mahindra’s new car line-up for the Auto Expo.

So, finally the day has come for the home-grown auto manufacturer to boast about its achievements with the SsangYong after its acquisition a year back. However, it wouldn’t be a wonder if SsangYong Rexton SUV does live up to the expectations, which is more of a surprise if it doesn’t  as SsangYong has driven home the point during 2011 in spite of the battered state when Mahindra has taken control over the Korean car manufacturer.  Though SsangYong is new to these parts of Asia, the auto maker is quite prominent in the European Nations which had managed to garner a growth of 40% despite the slow car market.
