Mahindra XUV 500, the latest sports utility vehicle of Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. received an awesome 5900 plus booking applications within two days from its opening on January 25. The second phase of bookings is for a limited period, starting from 25 January to February 3, 2012. SUV 500’s first phase of bookings in October had received an overwhelming response too and the car sold like hot cakes. Mahindra proudly sold 8000 units that time in just 10 days span across 5 cities.

Mahindra XUV 500 bookings have reopened this year across 19 Indian cities namely Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh / Panchkula, Ludhiana, Jallandhar, Patiala, Kochi, Trivandrum, Calicut, Trissur, Coimbatore, Nagpur and Nasik. Mahindra XUV 500 will be allotted to as many customers as possible within the next two and half months. In case the second phase of bookings exceed 7200 requests, the company will then adopt lottery system for allotment. As a unique customer -centric measure, this will ensure the customer that a fair and transparent method has been adopted for allotment.

The draw results will be out by February 15, 2012 and the booking amount will be reimbursed to the unsuccessful people in the draw. The allotment process will be authenticated by professional services firm, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt. Ltd (DTTIPL)* as per the mutual agreement between M&M and DTTIPL. The details regarding the allotment process can be seen on the brand's website.Mahindra also increased the prices of XUV 500 effective January 1st with the three variants becoming costlier by Rs 30,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 55,000 respectively. The Mahindra XUV 500 was introduced at a price ranging between Rs 10.8 lakh to 11.95 lakh.
