Earlier, the entire Indian car market was filled with rumors that Honda is planning to introduce its most loved hatchback car, Honda Brio in diesel version in 2012. But, sadly, rumors were only rumors. The company gave an official statement that Honda Seil Cars India is not planning to bring on the Honda Brio diesel in 2012. looking at Honda Brio pictures, the car looks cute and powerful. Previous speculations suggested that Honda Brio diesel will come jam packed with 1.2 litre of diesel engine and will be sold along with the petrol variant of the car. However, as soon as consumers started believing the rumors, Honda came out and brought the Honda fanatics back to reality. The major reason behind such buzz was the freshly introduced i-DTEC diesel engine, which was introduced by Honda.

Recently, Honda revealed the 1.6 litre of i-DTEC diesel engine that has the energy to produce great amount of power and torque accompanied with enhanced fuel efficiency that consumers will see in the brand new 2012 Honda Civic. This would be the first ever i-DTEC diesel engine that the firm is developing currently. However, not brining Honda Brio diesel in 2012 is really sad news for the fanatics, but the silver lining here is that Honda India will soon resume its full production of Honda Brio along with Honda Jazz, which has a huge demand today. both these cars have competitive prices, Honda Brio price in India is around Rs. 3,
Last year, Honda Seil Cars India gave a facelift to Honda Jazz along with a bit of repositioning in the price as well, while Honda Brio was launched as an entry level model. The production of these cars was affected in a real bad way because of ill-fated floods in Thailand. Since then the production at the Honda Seil Cars India were toppling continuously and only Honda City sedan was been developed, although in smaller quantities. Nevertheless, Honda India is all prepared to resume its full production by March 2012 and hopefully it will soon plan on to bring the diesel version of Honda Brio.
