Maruti Ertiga is certainly making news left right and centre with 11,000 units booked in just 5 days of launch, what else can one expect. Ertiga has become an epitome among the value-for-money cars in India and a proof of what a decently priced car can do in India. The homegrown company is hard-selling its LUV (Life Utility Vehicle) by plastering its adverts everywhere. Maruti Suzuki has tried its level best to fit in Ertiga with powerful engine options, impressive features and looks to kill for. But the rivalry in the Indian car market is quite hard-hitting because with immense success, follows huge amount of competition. While some eyes see it as leaping cat, others have pointed some flaws as compared to other MPVs plying on the roads. The major rivals of Maruti Ertiga comprise of Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and Chevrolet Tavera Neo.
One of the major plus point of Maruti Ertiga price. Maruti Suzuki India is offering the mid diesel car variant of Ertiga with ABS at reasonable price of Rs. 7,89,000. On the other hand, the cash cow of Toyota, Toyota Innova 2.5 GX 7 Seater Diesel costs around Rs. 11,58,956, while Mahindra Xylo E4 and E8 with ABS and Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 LT 7 C Seats BSIV come with hefty price tags of Rs. 8,48,324, Rs. 9,28,022 and Rs. 9,89,820 respectively (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).Besides such a cool price, Maruti understood the fact clearly that Indian consumers get drifted towards the cars which deliver more mileage. On an average, Ertiga delivers a very impressive mileage of 20.77 kmpl (as per the company’s claims), while its competitors including Tavera Neo, Xylo and Toyota Innova generate much less mileage than Ertiga. Chevrolet Tavera Neo gives out 14.6 kmpl of fuel economy, while Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo deliver a mileage of 13 km per litre.
