In these times when petrol prices are rising, Volkswagen is launching the Petrol version of their popular Sedan, Volkswagen Jetta. Sure, the unveiling happened a while back but the car is yet to see daylights. Being auto enthusiasts, our eyes and ears are always open for exiting and breaking news, and one such information that we came across was that yesterday late at night, a few popular magazines were called by the Volkswagen India for the official test drive. Soon enough we might see this variant across all dealerships present in India for Volkswagen Cars. This news is encouraging a lot of speculations regarding whether this is an intelligent move by Volkswagen India or not because of several reasons vis a vis; the rising petrol prices and the slowing down of sales of cars due to the increase in the excise duty, which was announced in the union budget this year.

Anyway, this is something that every News would soon cover but the whole point of discussion here is the rise in excitement and the cut throat competition that the Indian car market is seeing. It was expected that with so many launches done by Audi recently, Volkswagen group is sure not to keep quiet for long. The unique thing about these launches was that all of them were soft launches and all of them happened without much hue and cry. Volkswagen Jetta Petrol was expected to sport the same engine as Skoda Laura and Skoda Superb but a little while back the Volkswagen Jetta reviews stated that the engine would be a 1.4 litre TSI engine rather than the 1.8 TSI which the Skoda cars run on. It is being said that the Jetta Petrol would be capable of delivering a 121 Bhp of power and also would have a torque of 200 Nm. There is also a little rumor which says that this petrol variant of Jetta would be launched only in manual transmission. Since this engine is capable of delivering great power and along with it, a great fuel economy. It is expected that the sedan would give a mileage of 14.5 kmpl, which would make it one of the most fuel efficient cars in this segment. The Volkswagen Jetta Petrol price, however is still under covers. Whether this car would be as economical on the pockets in terms of price as it is in terms of fuel, which is something for which we would have to wait a little while more.
