The day unveils itself, spreading new shine, and a new smile especially for petrol heads who were holding their breath and looking forward to the launch of Mahindra Verito Refresh. The facelift of Mahindra Verito Refresh is actually true to its additional name- Refresh. With changes and new features added, the look of the Verito has become more ergonomic and aesthetic appeal.
The Mahindra Verito sedan has got a brand new look up on the front, a new grille (It has got the typical Mahindra family face owing to the vertically slated front grille job) and bumper job. The headlamps wow us and the boot sculpting is impressive. The few more features which have been added, makes the Verito Refresh a feature rich sedan, a kind that we expect from Mahindra.
The Brand new Verito is available in 2 variants in petrol (G2 and G4) and 3 variants in diesel (D2, D4 and D6). The Mahindra Verito price for refresh starts at an affordable Rs.5.27 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi for petrol, BS4) and Rs. 6.26 Lakh (ex showroom Delhi, BS4). The price quote for the sedan suits the segment that it is targeted towards especially with the Mahindra Verito’s claim of giving more value to the customers, a promise that Mahindra has never failed to fulfill.
The Engine though has been kept the same as the Renault model (we were happy with the old one too, so, no complaints on that front). The 1.4-litre MPFI, naturally aspirated petrol engine and 75bhp of power along with 110Nm of torque, does just fine. On the other hand, the Diesel engine is a 1.5-litre LdCi. The company is also claiming an ARAI fuel economy of a brilliant 21 kmpl for the diesel engine. The two engines on offer are no doubt impressive enough.
The chrome plated front grille which gives the Verito Refresh the typical Mahindra family identity has been largely influenced by the Korean automobile giant Kia. The front fascia of the Verito has changed from the boring match box like structure to a rounder look. The new eyebrow headlights, along with the stylish and new fog lamps, assure us of the beautiful scalpel work Mahindra Verito Refresh.
Coming to the body styling, the roof rails and blackened pillars add the much needed panache which was lacking in the old Verito and also to the otherwise plain side profile of the sedan. The rear has changed massively owing to the newly sculpted boot lid and the new clear lens tail lamps. The wiper movement has also been corrected and the bonnet opening lever has been provided on the driver's side. Also, what helps over all is the crispness of the rear chrome appliqué, the lip spoiler and the stylish side claddings which pump-up the sportiness quotient which in turn caters to the visual enhancement perspective.
Starting from the moment you lay your eyes on the car till the point when you step inside the Verito, the looks are welcoming enough starting with the stylish new grab and new door handles which goes further inside of the interior. There are the new head restraints which by the look of it are quite comfortable. The all new upholstery is elegant and impressive, way better than the old Verito.
Further giving it the nowadays going around designer feel, the Mahindra Verito Refresh to be launched with two tone panel. The driver information system is as always there which gives the driver the usual data with respect to fuel and distance. The Entertainment part is okay with 2 DIN music system with CD/MP3/AUX-in/USB/Tuner centers. The car has widest rear seat with three head restraints and it’s safe to say that the spacious seating capacity can be rival to the other sedans in this category and is certainly better than the old Verito. The spacious 510 litres of boot space is an alluring feature to those who like it heavy on the go.
The car is broadest possible in its segment as it offers unmatched cabin and boot space. The electric ORVM controls and the variometric AC with ergonomic controls are unmatched too. The sedan also gets ABS and twin airbags on the top end variant.
All in all Mahindra Verito Refresh has passed the first past the post system. Now, how well it is received and how it survives on road, is yet to be seen. I shared that Maruti India, Unpleasant Scenario for the No.1 Passenger Car Maker.
