The second best-seller of Toyota and titled as the top-selling passenger car in North America, the new Toyota Camry is soon going to set foot into its seventh generation having already sold 14 million units worldwide till date. With its launch ceremony due on the 24th of August, the new Toyota Camry will be released in its Asian version for the Indian buyers which has received a fresh make-over to show off a spanking new look with sharper curves and sturdier build. Identified as XV50 across the world, the new Toyota Camry will now be assembled in India itself at Toyota's Bangalore plant which would serve to bring down the price ratings of this youngest sedan car by a substantial measure.

Worked upon intently for boosting its dwindling sales figures in the Indian auto-market for the past few years, the new Toyota Camry 2012 now flaunts a massive 6-slat radiator grill carved in a V bend and coated in chrome together with an all black air dam stretched across the width of the front towards the lower end. Flanking the aggressive front are huge HID projector headlamps in a swept-back look mounted on a curvy angular bumper along with chrome-dipped fog lamps. Not just the front end, but the sedan in entirety has been sprinkled with chrome inside and out, be it the window frames, the door-handles or the exhaust pipe which tends to blend amazingly with its sleek fenders, pillars and waistline, making it look longer and more urbane. Meanwhile, the large bonnet and modernistic wing mirrors in a round shape with LED lights running across their edges serve to complement its new sporty attire.
Even the interiors of the new Toyota Camry have a brand new look and feel to them. Styled in a three-shade theme, the interior chamber of the all new Camry has been carved for the ultimate comfort of the occupants while voicing a distinctive style statement. While the dashboard is sheathed in hand-stitched leather, the lower end of the dash is tinted in beige. A stroke of faux-wood to enhance the regal appeal of the chamber has been added here and there – on the dash, the top centre of the steering wheel, the top of the central console and even on the doors. Although the sofa-like rear seating area with ample head and legroom and independent air-conditioning vents make Camry perfect for people who prefer to be chauffeur-driven, an easy switch can be made to self-driving with a smartly designed cockpit. Incorporating a slotted auto transmission gear shifter, a 2DIN touch screen DVD cum car-information display and a manually adjustable telescopic steering wheel, the driver's area has also been furnished with plush seats that can be adjusted electrically to provide proper support and ease to the driver. Toyota to launch new Camry in India on August 24.

Under the hood, the new Toyota Camry houses a mighty 2.5-litre 2AR-FE 4-cylinder petrol engine delivering a peak 178bhp at 6000rpm with a maximum torque of 233Nm at 4100rpm that is way beyond the older Camry models. Mated with an automatic 6-speed transmission with sequential shift, the 2494cc power-mill of the new Camry has been packed with DOHC and VVT-i technology. Besides style and power, absolute focus has been laid on the safety of the passengers of Camry also with ABS, EBD and brake assist being integrated into it, paired up with front and rear parking sensors, fog lamps and dual front airbags. By placing the price of new Toyota Camry in india within at an estimated amount of Rs 23 lakh, Toyota Cars have directly challenged segment leaders like Honda Accord, Skoda Superb, Hyundai Sonata and Volkswagen Passat. I shared that 2012 Chevrolet Cruze, better becomes the best.
