Everybody knows that Indian car bazaar is one of the most thriving and flourishing car market across the globe. Almost every global car brand is investing in the Indian car market and trying to woo consumers in every possible way. Every auto firm wishes its sales graph to go higher and higher every day, every month. To work on this graph, companies are trying to cajole the consumers by doling out new features in their cars. These days, big auto giants such as Volkswagen, Ford, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Toyota are literally working their hearts out to woo customers at every level. They keep their products in the news, just with the help of introducing a feature or two, and grab the news highlights.Recently, many cars have been introduced with little facelifts and made the news like forest-fire. Let’s start with India’s biggest car company Maruti Suzuki. The firm of late launched Maruti A-Star’s face-lifted version, which was sprinkled with new and improved upholstery on the front seats, new alloy wheels and the much needed anti-lock braking system along with airbag option. It did help the firm to get its sales a notch higher than before.
All new Fiat Punto hatchback and Fiat Linea sedan finally arrives in the country before the much awaited automobile event, Auto Expo 2012, which would be held in New Delhi from 7th to 11th January 2011. No extreme makeover has been given to these Fiat cars, but both the cars come with some notable changes. Fiat Punto and Fiat Linea come powered with the standard 1.3 litre of diesel engine, which churns out the perfect amount of power and torque that in turns increases the fuel efficiency of the cars.
The Indian hatchback market keeps its players on their toes. The best way to lure more and more buyers in such a dynamic market is to innovate and bring out newer and better versions of products. Carmaker Fiat did just that. The company launched the Punto 90 HP version. This is a better and more powerful version of the premium hatchback Fiat Punto. This all new Punto diesel has been priced at Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
With high power comes the true driving experience. Keeping in mind this very thought, Fiat India today launched its latest model, Fiat Punto 90 HP MULTIJET in the premium hatchback segment. Loaded with a 1.3 litre Multijet engine, powered by a Variable Geometry Turbocharger, the Fiat Punto will be India’s most powerful diesel hatchback. The new Fiat Grande Punto 90 HP MULTIJET will be priced at Rs 6.79 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
Fiat is contemplating the launch of a new version of the Fiat Punto in July. The company is all set to roll out a 90 hp Fiat Grande Punto Diesel, which was showcased at the 2010 Auto Expo in New Delhi. The Fiat Grande Punto is targeted at the young and urban audience and to lure this cash rich Indian youth the car would also flaunt funky electric sunroof, sporty upholstery, a rear spoiler, sport red decals, blacked-out headlamps, bigger tyres and dual colour interior leather seats. But this model is likely to be pegged at Rs 7 lakh which is above the other Fiat Punto models. But the model would co exist with the other models. The 90 bhp Fiat Punto is likely to be offered in top-end ‘Emotion’ and ‘Emotion Pack’ variants. According to the official spokesperson of Fiat India, “We will launch the “Fiat Punto 90hp” in India during July. We will not call it Sports.” The Punto Sport would sport a 1.3-litre 90bhp multijet diesel engine which powers the Fiat Linea as well.
Fiat launched an impressive array of variants of Fiat Punto at the Auto Expo, Delhi. Fiat has pulled crowd to its stall by the launch of Fiat Punto Natural Power, Fiat Punto Sport and Fiat Punto Trendz. Rajeev Kapoor, President and CEO, Fiat India commented on this launch that by launching these variants they wanted to raise the customer expectations to the next level and wanted to prove their commitments to innovation, youth and environment.
