The second phase of bookings is for a limited period, starting from 25 January to February 3, 2012. SUV 500’s first phase of bookings in October had received an overwhelming response too and the car sold like hot cakes. Mahindra proudly sold 8000 units that time in just 10 days span across 5 cities.

On 25^th of January 2012, the firm will open up the booking gates yet again for its much viable SUV, Mahindra XUV 500 4x2 model. However, this re-opening of the booking is only for 10 days. M&M was pretty clear about the fact that booking will not be open for the Mahindra XUV 500 W8 AWD variant. The company is hoping for about 7200 booking this time around.

In such a short time, this new SUV by Mahindra managed to amplify the sales figures for the firm and the company was soon out of stock and failed to vie with the brilliant demand of 8000 bookings in a matter of just 10 days. To cope up with such huge demand, Mahindra and Mahindra is now planning to speed up the production procedure of the Mahindra XUV 500 at its Chakan plant, which is located near Pune, Maharashtra. This ramp up in the production of the SUV will not only help the firm meeting such a high demand, but will also support the firm in the exports that would be done to European and Australian markets in the year of 2013.

Mahindra and Mahindra had launched its Mahindra XUV 500 SUV in India on 29th of this month. The South African launch is slated to take place today at Johannesburg; a day after the Indian launch. During the launch at Pune, the Chief Executive of Mahindra and Mahindra, Pravin Shah had said that the auto major would like to improve its global presence by introducing Mahindra XUV 500in the other international markets like South America, Australia and SAARC countries. The India bound Mahindra XUV 500 price starts from Rs 10.80 lakhs going all the way up to Rs 12.88 lakhs. The Mahindra XUV 500 price for the South African market is kept under the wraps.
