The company has revealed their financial results for the fiscal of 2011-12, which has been a year of record sales for the company across the globe. Apart from this tremendous success, their innovative electric car, Nissan Leaf has been adjudged as the best selling hybrid car across the world. Nissan Motors have registered net revenue of US $ 118.95 billion, while their operating profit is US $ 5.01 billion. The company has sold close to 4.845 million vehicles globally, which is a boost of 15.8% from the previous fiscal of, 2010-11. This remarkable feat has also increased the market share of the company to 6.4% across the world’s automobile markets. Talking on this achievement, Mr. Carlos Ghosn, who is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Nissan Motor Company Limited stated: “The Company has done marvelous sales and have generated healthy operating profits in the midst of increasing demands of our vehicles, brand name and technologies across the globe”. He was elated that despite the trouble created by natural calamities, their local currency (Yen) being over valued and with the ongoing unsure economic conditions, the company has come out with flying colors.

The car is the second offering from Nissan that has been built on the same ‘V’ platform on which the Nissan Micra is built. The Nissan Sunny is the name with which this sedan is known in China and in India also it has been named as Nissan Sunny. There had been quite a few speculations about the name of Nissan Sunny and it was believed that Nissan will give a new name to Sunny. In United States of America it is called as Nissan Versa. It is not the sedan version of Nissan Micra and despite being built on the same platform as the hatchback car, it is a new sedan. Nissan Sunny price is expected to fall in the range of Rs 7 lakh to Rs 9 lakh. Nissan Sunny launch is expected in the festive season, though the company has not asserted any specific date.
