Here comes one more seven-seater to make the competition even tougher! General Motors is ready to bring its Chevrolet Enjoy MPV onto the bumpy roads of India. This new smashing car is expected to give a royal drubbing to Maruti Suzuki’s Ertiga and Mahindra and Mahindra’s Quanto. This multi-utility vehicle will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. With its competitive pricing, both Maruti and Mahindra and Mahindra are sure to have a hard time.

Chevrolet Sail U-VA, the cavernous hatchback from the American automaker that was launched in India in November last year as a replacement for the ailing Aveo U-VA, welcomed a spanking new base diesel variant, named as the Sail U-VA PS, to its band on Saturday last week. Loaded with a whole lot of basic comfort and safety features, Chevrolet Sail U-VA PS price has been marked at a figure of Rs 5.29 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi), which makes it Rs 30,000 cheaper than its arch rival, the entry-level Maruti Suzuki Swift LDI model. The price for the entry-level petrol variant of the Sail U-VA has already been reduced by the company, bringing it down from Rs 4.44 lakh to Rs 4.19 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi) a few days back in an attempt to boost sales, seeing that this hatchback car hasn’t been doing as well in the Indian market as everyone, including its manufacturers, expected it to. And now, with this new diesel model out in the field, it seems like General Motors is not willing to let Sail suffer the same fate as the Aveo brothers did and is all set at turning its new participant into a success story this time.

Not even two months have passed since the onset of 2013, and the Indian automakers have already presented their buyers with more than 25 amazing new models to choose from. From face-lifts to brand new cars, from cosmetic updates to major overhauling, from native Indian brands to international marques – car enthusiasts of India have seen a lot being showcased on the launch stage over the past few days. Chevrolet Sail sedan, the car that was amongst the most eagerly awaited launches of the year in 2012 and which continued to elude appearance on the launch stage even as we stepped into the new year 2013, has at last walked out of its prominent stables to meet an excited and anticipative Indian audience in person. Not more than eight days ago, a countdown timer for this event had appeared at the official website of Chevrolet India, and today, as the timer ticked to zero, the company lifted the covers off their latest innovation, making it available for purchase by the general public. Starting at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the incredibly competitive quality of the Chevrolet Sail sedan price is one of the strongest selling points of the deal that the American marque is offering its customers. This new deal, besides promising assured affordability, provides buyers with the freedom to choose from a pretty extensive fleet comprising of eight variants, four of which are oil-burners while the remaining four use petrol for fuelling. Price tags for the petrol range of this new entrant feature Rs 4.99 lakh for Sail 1.2, Rs 5.49 lakh for Sail 1.2 LS, Rs 5.70 lakh for Sail 1.2 LS ABS and Rs 6.41 lakh for Sail 1.2 LT ABS. As for the diesel group, Sail 1.3 has been tagged at Rs 6.29 lakh, Sail 1.3 LS costs Rs 6.59 lakh, Sail 1.3 LS ABS is available for Rs 6.80 lakh while the top-end Sail 1.3 LT ABS can be bought for Rs 7.52 lakh (All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).

The 2013 Chevrolet Cruze facelift first came in India via the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, but General Motors India has decided to skip the car's launch here despite rumours of its launch somewhere in mid-2012. And while it may be a while before the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze gets to be a part of the Indian automobile market, looks like Malaysia just got lucky. General Motors Malaysia launched the mid-life facelift of the premium sedan, which was sold only in Korea before this. The facelifted Cruze was first showcased  at the 2012 Busan Motor Show in South Korea. Ever since, the facelifted car has been launched in South Korea with Malaysia being the only other name to join the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze's market list. And as far as India is concerned, the American car maker had already clarified during the launch of the 2012 Cruze in India that they have no immediate plans of introducing the 2013 model here.

The highly anticipated Chevrolet Sail U-VA is finally here with a starting price tag of Rs 4.44 lakh. The newest car by General Motors India can be precisely described as a car made in, by and for India. The company, which has been trying to carve its own niche in the face of tough competiton posed by much famous cars like Maurti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai i20, is offering the car in a total of seven variants, which includes four petrol-based versions and three diesel variants. The price of the petrol-based line up, which features the following models: Base, LS, LS ABS, and LT ABS, starts at Rs 4.44 lakh and goes up to Rs 5.57 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Whereas the price range for the diesel squad (LS, LS ABS, and LT ABS) is Rs 5.87 lakh – Rs 6.92 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

General Motors India is a subsidiary of American automotive giant General Motors. GM India is actually a joint venture between Sanghai Automotive Industry Corp. (SAIC) and General Motors. The JV launches all its product under GM's brand Chevrolet. GM India has launched facelift versions of Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Capativa recently. The celebrated brand is in news again because of its much anticipated Sail twins, Chevrolet Sail hatchback and Sail sedan. Chevrolet Sail twins are basically prime SAIC products which are already sizzling Chinese streets. GM's intention to bring these is clearly to replace Chevrolet Aveo siblings (hatchback Aveo U-VA and Aveo sedan), which are not doing as well as expected. GM showcased Sail hatchback at Auto Expo India, earlier this year, where it was pleasing to the crowds. Chevrolet Sail, a premium hatch, will be placed in the B segment, whereas the Sail sedan is an entry level vehicle. GM seems to be set to give direct competition to 'Maruti Suzuki Swift Duo'. GM is about to launch the Sail hatchback by September end. The sedan version will follow the hatchback launch. 

Indian auto market has become more like a fighting arena because of amid competition in between automobile giants. Each and every company wants to offer their best cars in India, because it is one of the most progressively emerging auto markets in the world. Thus, GM decided to revamp this best selling luxury sedan. The full facelift version of Chevrolet Cruze will be launched in 2013. For now, they have changed everything under the hood. The luxury sedan has been blessed with an all new 2.0L VCDI engine mated with either 6-speed manual or AT transmission.
