Honda India might shed its fore and introduce Brio’s diesel variant to tap into the car market. Honda is aware of the fact of how high is the demand for diesel cars in India. Although earlier according to market rumors Brio was expected to launch this year but now Honda officials have denied that saying Honda Brio would possibly see the market in 2013. Honda has not yet revealed the Honda Brio price. Honda is looking forward to recapture its market share as it has seen 27% fall in sales during the first nine months of the current financial year. This fall in sales was largely because Honda was unable to introduce any diesel variant which has become popular in India due to soaring petrol prices. Honda is also ardent towards recapturing market share from its rivals VW and Toyota whose diesel cars account for a large chunk of their sales.
Earlier, the entire Indian car market was filled with rumors that Honda is planning to introduce its most loved hatchback car, Honda Brio in diesel version in 2012. But, sadly, rumors were only rumors. The company gave an official statement that Honda Seil Cars India is not planning to bring on the Honda Brio diesel in 2012. looking at Honda Brio pictures, the car looks cute and powerful. Previous speculations suggested that Honda Brio diesel will come jam packed with 1.2 litre of diesel engine and will be sold along with the petrol variant of the car. However, as soon as consumers started believing the rumors, Honda came out and brought the Honda fanatics back to reality. The major reason behind such buzz was the freshly introduced i-DTEC diesel engine, which was introduced by Honda.
The long wait for the most popular petrol car has ended today. We are talking about none other than the 2012 Honda City which finally broke the cover in New Delhi today. The best part of the deal is the new Honda City price. The new City is available at a reasonable price of Rs 6.99 lakh. The only disappointment so far is the lack of the diesel engine, which will continue to pinch the diesel car lovers for a while.
There is no doubt that the 'petrol only' car from Honda India is one of the best-selling cars from the auto major. The car has seen many ups and downs in the recent past. But, Honda India did not give up the hope. It had annonced a whopping discount in the range of Rs 1 lakh in most of the cities to push the car sales. So, did it reach the heights it is expected of. It actually did. It has managed to touch the 5000 unit sales mark in a particular month where it itched for high sales. What more , there were enough hurdles to push back the poor sedan sales. The Thailand floods curbed the plans for new Honda City for what could have been a November launch. However, the day has finally arrived and today we are just a day short of 2012 Honda City launch. So, why speculate now of the new Honda City price when we can have all the juicy details just tomorrow.
Good news from Honda Motors is that the Honda CR-V launch will take place just as planned. The recent floods haven’t pushed the auto major deep into the mud as expected.
