The car maker had announced that this innovative car will be initially produced in a batch of 1,000 units for the 2013 year model. However, the production will be upped to 4,000 - 6,000 units for the 2014 model year. And for those who are still wondering about what exactly makes this car so special, here is the answer. It is the world’s first diesel plug-in hybrid, and its production has been integrated into the same production line as that of Volvo’s other regular powered models, including the Volvo V60, V70, XC70, S80, and XC90 at their Torslanda production facility in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Volvo S60 D5 Kinetic is priced at Rs 27 lakh and Volvo S60 D5 Summum is priced at Rs 32lakhs in diesel version. In petrol Volvo S60 T6 Summum is priced at a competitive range of Rs 34 lakhs.
