Just a few days back, the luxury compact SUV segment welcomed two new members in its band – the power-packed petrol version of Audi Q3 and the ravishing facelift of BMW X1, taking the competition level in the exceedingly popular segment of the Indian auto-industry to alarming heights. Volvo Car Corporation swept the world off its feet when they first announced the world’s first diesel car plug-in hybrid. And now that the car’s 2013 delivery dates have come closer, the company has decided to speed up the production of the all new V60 plug-in hybrid. The car maker had announced that this innovative car will be initially produced in a batch of 1,000 units for the 2013 year model. However, the production will be upped to 4,000 - 6,000 units for the 2014 model year. And for those who are still wondering about what exactly makes this car so special, here is the answer. It is the world’s first diesel plug-in hybrid, and its production has been integrated into the same production line as that of Volvo’s other regular powered models, including the Volvo V60, V70, XC70, S80, and XC90 at their Torslanda production facility in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The latest luxury sedan Volvo S60 has received over 100 bookings within a week of its launch and this has choked the bookings of the Volvo S60 till May 2011.

The encouraging response from the buyers will make the company launch more models in the Indian market in future. However, the company lacks a good network base and is planning to set up dealership stores in several other cities. Currently New Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Coimbatore, Kochi Pune and Hyderabad are the cities that have Volvo dealerships and Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Jaipur and Ahmadabad are next in line to get it.

Volvo S60 has been launched today (10th March, 2011) with a price range of Rs 27 lakh to Rs 34 lakh. In the middle of applause, Volvo S60 raised curtains from the three variants which includes two diesel (D5) engine and one petrol (T6 turbo) powertrain. Volvo S60 D5 Kinetic is priced at Rs 27 lakh and Volvo S60 D5 Summum is priced at Rs 32lakhs in diesel version. In petrol Volvo S60 T6 Summum is priced at a competitive range of Rs 34 lakhs. The Volvo S60 is all set to empower the premium luxury segment with respect to its style, performance and technology. Volvo S60 the premium luxury sedan is the first offering of the year from the Swedish auto giant. This super savvy car is the cheapest from Volvo's portfolio tagged at Rs 27 lakh to Rs 34 lakh.

The new luxury sedan has opened the battle for the already established cars in this segment. Volvo S60 petrol variant will compete with Audi A4 3.2 and BMW 330i. However Volvo S60 diesel is all set to queer the pitch for Audi A4 3.0 TDi and BMW 320D.

Volvo XC60, the Swedish SUV from the luxury car maker Volvo India is all set to dazzle the Indian audiences tomorrow on 24th November'2010. The vehicle has already become a rage amidst car enthusiasts in India as the company has been marketing for Volvo XC 60 aggressively recently. Equipped with a range of safety features, the car would expand the company's modest car range. Volvo XC 60, the four wheel drive SUV would be available in both Petrol and Diesel versions in India.
